Video #22 of a day by day record of my little Teddy Bear hamster couple's 11 adorable children; This is their 1st and only litter. Watching the babies grow up and helping their mom take care of them was huge fun, I'm glad I could be a part of it! :D The babies were born on March 9th, 2009. Boys and girls were separated today. PS: The babies don't live in an ice cream bucket... they are there to make this video. Read on for my rant of background information! About 3 months after getting the dad, Frankie from Atlas Pets I got my little Fiona from another pet store across town. (Its a big town.) After hours of research I fell in love with baby hamsters and was determined to let my hamsters have a litter of their own. I decided to get 2 teddy bears as DIFFERENT as possible so the babies wouldn't turn out demented or deformed from inbreeding... :/ I meant to get a big female that could have a lot of babies (I know, choosing a hamster for all the wrong reasons XD) but I fell in love with Fiona. She is the runt of her litter but has the biggest heart in the world. Her siblings were the size of ordinary teddy bears. (or panda bears as they are know today) Around 10 days after she got preggers I put Fiona in a baby proof cage. (Old glass aquarium with a lid, low water bottle, extra soft all natural cotton bedding and no hamster wheel-to Fiona's dismay.) Fed her high-protein foods-boiled eggs whites, cheese, cooked chicken, and homemade treats made from peanut butter,carrots, and ...
